Virgie Hegg Hospice Partners, Inc. annually awards three $500 scholarships to individuals pursuing careers in the human medical field. Two scholarships are available to a graduating senior from both Cook and Orr High Schools. The third scholarship is available to a current college student from the area. Cook and Orr high school seniors are encouraged to apply by contacting the school guidance counselor for more information. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the spring awards ceremonies at each school. Current college students may apply for an application by submitting a written request to VHHP at PO Box 244, Cook MN 55723. College scholarship recipients will be notified by mail in June. At it's regular Board Meeting in May, Virgie Hegg Hospice Partners (VHHP) Board of Directors reviewed a number of scholarship applications and selected three deserving area youth for scholarship awards. | Hailey Warzonek of Cook received a VHHP Scholarship to pursue a career in Speech Pathology. She will be attending Hibbing Community College this fall with plans to transfer to UMD upon completion of general courses. Hailey prepared in advance for her career choice by participating in a work study program through Upward Bound and is highly motivated to achieve her goals. |

Rebecca Tindell of Orr received a Scholarship to ultimately pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. She is planning to enroll in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Lake Superior College for attendance this fall. Rebecca displays a strong work ethic and the determination to accomplish her goals. |

Ana Raati of Angora is the 2009 recipient of the VHHP College Scholarship. She is currently pursuing a degree as a Radiological Technician at Lake Superior College with plans to graduate in 2010. Ana is intent on returning to the Range area to pursue her career goals. |
