The 19th annual VHHP Lights of Love campaign, our largest fundraiser of the year, begins in November to commemorate National Hospice Month and National Family Caregivers Month. Last year's Lights of Love raised approximately 40% of Virgie Hegg Hospice Partners (VHHP) annual income. Fundraising goals are achieved through the dedicated efforts of our Board of Directors working together with a community of supporting individuals and businesses. We invite you to continue the tradition of remembering and honoring loved ones by supporting quality hospice care in our local area. VHHP is a supporting partner of licensed hospice & palliative care providers in central St. Louis County. Personalized hospice services are designed to help both patient and family by providing hands on medical, psychological, and spiritual care. VHHP funds are applied toward patient support in the areas of medical equipment & supplies as well as bereavement & grief support for families. Funds are also applied towards hospice staff development and education scholarships for students in the Cook & Orr area, pursuing a medical career. Virgie Hegg Hospice Partners remains committed to helping hospice patients and their families in our local area. Local watercolor artist, Lois Larson, will again be donating an original holiday painting to be raffled as part of the Lights of Love campaign. Tickets will be available for purchase from VHHP Board Members as well as at the Lights of Love ceremony in Cook. Your tax deductible donation will help light the trees at holiday celebrations in the communities of Cook & Orr, in support of local hospice patients & their families. Donations may be given in honor or memory of a loved one. Ice Candle Luminaries will also be available for purchase to be displayed as part of the tree lighting ceremonies. All Lights of Love contributions and dedications will be published in local area newspapers during the month of January, unless otherwise indicated on the donation form. Please mark your calendars and join us for the Lights of Love tree lighting taking place at the Cook Library on Friday, December 4th @ 5:30 pm and at the Orr Visitor Center on Saturday, December 5th @ 5:30 pm.
