Your donations are at work in a variety of ways serving patients and their families in Cook and
the surrounding communities as well as St. Mary's hospice staff. General categories of support
include Patient & Family Support, Hospice Staff Development and Public Education. VHHP has been
able to respond to a variety of requests that increase the quality of hospice care and the
personalized services offered to patients and their families.
The first quarter of our fiscal year, we have been able to provide Patient Support in the form of
nutritional food supplements, comfort care through massage, incontinence supplies and gift cards
to meet every day needs. We have also been able to support Families by providing transportation $
for a mother (of patient) to attend her son's funeral, providing grief resources for children and
acknowledging a loss by sending flowers. Your generosity allows VHHP to touch lives in a positive
manner during a challenging time. We have continued to support St. Mary's Staff Development by
sending staff to Grief Support Training, providing lodging costs for employees attending the MN
Hospice Conference and by contributing a gift basket as a door prize for employees attending a
Competency Fair. Your generosity contributes to maintaining quality hospice care. Public Education
includes the cost of promoting hospice care through advertising, brochures and speaking engagements.
Your generosity helps spread the word about compassionate and quality end of life care for patients
