How Peer Support services can help...
- Offer concern, sharing or ideas, and encouragement.
- Offer help with specific questions about resources.
- Provide information about ways to cope with the diagnosis and treatment from someone who has "been there."
- Help you to realize that many people survive cancer and lead highly productive lives despite the illness.
- Put you in touch with others with similar experiences.
- Allow you to share information about ways to handle such problems as answering children's questions, dealing with upset family members, what to tell your employer, and how to talk with your doctor.
- Support from others who have had cancer is not the same as professional counseling.
Helpin to keep a good positive attitude.

Support Groups are just that -- they offer support and the sharing of ideas.
When one is afraid to speak the word or even think of cancer.
When one does not know the answers or even the questions to ask.
When one feels no one understands...
